Subscriptions & Donations
OwnPlate is invite only — there is no signup form and no checkout at the door. Membership begins one of two ways: a member who knows you sends you an invitation, or you raise your hand on the community map below — tell your story in your own words, and a member can sponsor your place with an Exir, the gift of entry.
What it does:
- Everything on the plate, not just calories. Protein, carbs, fat and fibre on every meal, and forty nutrients beneath them - iron, vitamin D, magnesium, omega-3 - estimated by the AI from what it sees and what you tell it, and measured against FDA daily values, so a week's gaps show up before they show up in you.
- The colour of your plate. A simple, honest signal for micronutrients: how many colours were on the plate this week. More colour is more vegetables and fruit and less processed food, and the app keeps that in front of you.
- Accuracy that grows with you. It learns your meals. Scan the labels of what you buy and those numbers replace estimates with what the packet states; save your own recipes - my usual omelette, my banana matcha shake - and logging them is one word.
- Log by photo, or just say it. A photo of the plate, or a sentence to your coach: "pad thai for lunch" is enough, and "a quarter cup of rice, 200 g of kafta, half a cup of yogurt and a shirazi salad" is understood just as well.
- A plan built for you, with you. If you want to lose weight, lose fat or gain muscle, your coach reads your metabolism and your energy out, talks it through with you, and sets an eight- or twelve-week plan for as much of that goal as is feasible - then keeps it honest week by week.
Once you're in: your first four weeks are free, membership is $19.99/month or $79.99/year after that, no feature is ever held back for a paid tier, and a month you don't use bills $0. The earliest members pay less for their first twelve months — the first 25 to commit to a plan get 60% off, the next 135 half off, the next 340 a quarter off — and the number is earned by committing, not by signing up.
OP Community
This community is invite only — every member arrived through someone who vouched for them, or through Exir: the gift of entry, donated by a member or by OwnPlate itself. You can raise your hand for it: leave a way to reach you and make your case, and your waiting hand appears on the map until Exir comes your way.
Each heart is a person, shown as the number they joined the crowd with — #1 was first, and the count only grows. Hearts sit at city level at most, never a precise place. A pulsing heart is someone active this week; a still one is someone who has stepped away — shown honestly, because a map where every heart beats would be marketing, and this one is evidence. An open hand is someone waiting for Exir — a place in the crowd that hasn't opened yet.
